SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE:  SNX), a leading business process services company, today announced that it has expanded its agreement with Microsoft to offer Azure IoT solutions to its partners. Through the addition, SYNNEX is able to deliver a market-ready IoT solution to help meet critical needs in key vertical markets including education and public safety, and regulated industries such as transportation, healthcare, utilities and construction.

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Microsoft by adding the Azure Platform,” said Rob Moyer, Vice President, Cloud, Mobility and IoT, SYNNEX Corporation. “This strategic addition allows us to deliver a seamless solution that helps end-customers solve real world problems, increase productivity, and save money over time with IoT.”

The Azure IoT Hub easily and securely connects (IoT) assets and allows users to rely on telemetry data to understand the state of their devices and be ready to take action when a device needs attention. The hub is the foundation of the IoT solutions available through the SYNNEX Cloud Solution Provider Program, which allows partners to sell Microsoft cloud services with their current offerings and own the complete customer lifestyle through direct billing, provisioning, management and support. By adding the Azure hub, users can get started quickly, register and provision IoT devices automatically, securely connect and manage billions of devices and assets, and understand real-time data in the cloud.

By working with SYNNEX, partners are able to help their customers solve real-world problems such as:

  • Keeping students safe and secure on school buses by adding security cameras and Wi-Fi. This allows school districts to monitor the environment, have a record of activity, and communicate with police officers in the case of an emergency;
  • Ensuring safety for law enforcement officers through video surveillance in patrol cars and body-worn cameras. First responders can also use IoT technology to be prepared during a disaster including monitoring and analyzing data through an IoT hub. These solutions are available through SYNNEX’ Public Safety Practice;
  • Tracking drivers’ hours to ensure their hours of service requirements are met, which is now enforced through the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate; as well as seeing where trucks are located in real-time.

According to Embedded Works President Andy Do, “When building Embedded Work’s IoT solutions, our cloud of choice for a robust and flexible system was Microsoft’s Azure platform. Azure’s DIY dashboard and IoT Hub framework allow us to scale up or down based on resource demands. SYNNEX’ support made it possible to order and activate our initial Azure server quickly and seamlessly. From there, we developed our GPS and sensor platforms with confidence.”

Resellers can access a number of competitive advantages through SYNNEX, including go-to-market carrier offerings to manage wireless activations. They can also expand their businesses and increase market-share with Device-as-a-Service (DaaS), which simplifies the device procurement process with a modern solution for purchasing devices, software, cloud services and managed services. Partners can rely on the support of subject matter experts in education and public safety as well as experienced cloud engineers. In addition, the SYNNEX Field Services Team can easily deploy IoT services for customers onsite.

“We’re excited to be partnering with SYNNEX to expand the Azure Services available through the SYNNEX Cloud Solution Provider Program to include our comprehensive set of IoT services,” said Rodney Clark, Vice President IoT, Microsoft. “Utilizing Azure IoT services, our partner ecosystem can build intelligent edge to cloud solutions quickly and securely to realize business value and drive transformative impact to end customers.”
