Of all the unsettling digital technologies being deployed in food and beverage manufacturing, none is more controversial than Artificial Intelligence (AI). Robotics, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics and AI are evolving from science fiction to reality, seemingly, overnight. Companies are reevaluating their processes and the workforce and making decisions that will drastically impact the job market in food and beverage manufacturing.
AI is particularly valuable in automating and streamlining the complete manufacturing ecosystem, from speeding operations and automating routine decisions, to advising on executive-level decisions. It is also fueling a heated debate as to whether factories should ultimately rely on AI-driven machines and robotics, which could eliminate the majority of manufacturing jobs.
Most industry pundits seem to agree that AI is going to have a major impact on businesses. In fact, According to the trusted source, “the number of users of modern business intelligence and analytics platforms that are differentiated by augmented data discovery capabilities will grow at twice the rate and deliver twice the business value by 2020.”
Artificial Intelligence Infusing With MESH Technologies to Create New Life in Internet of Things Industry
Artificial intelligence (AI) is infusing with MESH technologies to breathe new life into the already multi-billion dollar Internet of Things (IoT) market. IoT has been one of the more prominent buzzwords in technology over the past several years, but it has been taken to new heights through AI and MESH technology, allowing interconnected devices to operate at a higher rate of efficiency and thus open the door to more consumers and businesses to leverage IoT platforms in their everyday lives.
Industrial Internet Consortium Launches Artificial Intelligence Testbed for Manufacturing
Beginning with a focus on the automotive industry, the Industrial Internet Consortium’s newest testbed will explore the application of artificial intelligence and industrial Internet technologies to optimize manufacturing processes.
With 28 testbeds, the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) has become well recognized for its work with industry, government and academic organizations to verify the functionality and applicability of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies across manufacturing, infrastructure, utilities, energy, buildings, healthcare and retail. Now the IIC has announced the creation of a new testbed aimed at the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in manufacturing.
According to the IIC, the OMPAI testbed will explore the application of AI and industrial Internet technologies deployed from the edge to the cloud to optimize automotive manufacturing processes. It also seeks to create an ecosystem that will foster the exchange of information technology (IT), operational technology (OT) and AI domain knowledge and the co-development of smart manufacturing applications.
Rapidly growing industrial automation and digitalization to promote the growth of artificial intelligence market
Rapidly growing industrial automation, digitalization, extensive use of robotics and the computer technologies in the manufacturing, growing use of big data and IoT drives the growth of Artificial intelligence in the manufacturing market. In addition, the artificial intelligence offers speech recognition, learning, planning, and problem-solving capabilities which help the manufacturing companies to provide the safer operational environment helps to enhance the quantity and quality of the production. On the other side, reluctance for acceptance of artificial intelligence among the manufacturers is expected to restrain the market growth over the forecast period.
