The new normal is all about adapting to changes. Be it the way we work or any other daily routines, change is inevitable if we want to progress forward. For VMware, the annual VMworld summit brings together tech enthusiasts from all over the world to learn and understand more about VMware and their new product offerings.

This year, VMworld will be a virtual event for the first time. In line with adapting to changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual summit will be accessible to participants all over the world. With the theme, Shape Your Future, VMware is clearly heading in the right direction as the company is expected to make some interesting announcements during the summit.

Following several acquisitions made by VMware in the last twelve months, all eyes will be on Pat Gelsinger, CEO of VMware as he delivers his keynote address, virtually from his home for the first time. Among the major acquisitions recently made include Datrium, a unified hybrid cloud computing and data management company as well as Octarine, a zero-trust security model for cloud-native apps to ensure organisations can preserve their security and compliance. Both of which offer added value to VMware’s growing portfolio.

Sanjay Poonen, VMware COO will be speaking to some of VMware’s customers such as Zoom and Northern Trust, who will share their perspective about what’s coming next in IT. Other thought leadership speakers featured on VMworld include Lori Beer, Chief Information Officer of JPMorgan Chase and CEO of PepsiCo and John Donahoe, President and CEO of Nike, just to namedrop a few.

With remote working the biggest change post-COVID-19, VMware could be making some exciting announcements and updates on VMware Workspace ONE, their workspace platform that securely delivers and manages any app on any device. To better protect devices and address cybersecurity concerns, attendees can look forward to VMware Carbon Black making some interesting announcements at the summit.

Application developers will be eager to get updates on VMware Project Pacific, a re-architecture of vSphere with Kubernetes as its control plane and VMware Tanzu, the suite or portfolio of products and solutions that allow its customers to build, run and manage Kubernetes controlled container-based applications.

As organisations prepare to recover and go forward post-COVID-19, they need to ensure their business is ready for the future. VMware can assist them in their journey and ensure companies shape their future the way they want to.

VMworld 2020 is from 29th September to 1st October. Click here to register.
