Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) is announcing the MARii Tracker, a complete solution for contact tracing, social distancing compliance and location tracking within business premises. MARii Tracker is a device that tracks the movement of individuals within a business premise and stores contact tracing information, employee logs, supply chain information, and standard operating procedure (SOP) enforcement of businesses, all in real-time and in the cloud.
These MARii Tracker capabilities are deployed through a small Bluetooth dongle that can be clipped on a belt or placed in an employee’s pocket. The Tracker alerts employees through an audible alarm when two or more dongles come within a range of less than one (1) meter, indicating social distancing protocols are not practiced. The data is also captured by the system administrator for logging, analysis and any corrective action.
This makes the MARii Tracker highly suited for SOP compliance in business premises that requires a high population of its workforce to be present on-site, such as factories, retail outlets or even airports.
In the case of employees testing positive for the coronavirus, employers are able to track and identify areas exposed to infections through a cloud-based administrator dashboard for the MARii Tracker. This eases the identification and isolation of close contacts of infected individuals, while allowing unaffected employees to continue working without risk.
“The MARii tracker was built as a new solution to better manage the pandemic at all economic levels. While disruptions to operations are still probable in the future, this system arms us with new dimensions of health management data that was previous not available to business owners and authorities alike”, said MARii CEO, Dato’ Ts. Madani Sahari.
MARii Tracker also integrates with selected human resource management apps such as HRMS and attendance software, easing the tasks of monitoring and tracking the movement within the business premise. Apart from employee identification numbers, MARii Tracker does not store any personal data of the employees, and the system does not rely to any smartphone or mobile app to operate.
The system can also be integrated with technologies such as facial recognition and geographic information systems (GIS) mapping. The big data analytics technology would enable predictive modelling and simulations of outbreak patterns from new infection clusters.
