Telkomsel has partnered Singtel to introduce Indonesia’s first Orchestration Platform for 5G and Edge Cloud Computing, built on Singtel Paragon.

Fifth-generation (5G) mobile technology, with its ultra-low latency, high reliability, and network slicing capabilities, is the cornerstone of enterprise digital transformation efforts. Singtel and Telkomsel’s collaboration will make this cutting-edge technology more accessible to Indonesian enterprises, in line with their commitment to leverage 5G to accelerate digital transformation and support Industry 4.0. The platform will be available through Telkomsel’s Enterprise business unit.

“We are excited to collaborate with Singtel to integrate the Paragon platform into our enterprise product portfolio, enabling Telkomsel Enterprise to offer a broader and more holistic range of connectivity solutions to drive the adoption of 5G and Edge Cloud Computing for corporations and industries, especially those in the manufacturing, mining, logistics, and healthcare where high-speed data processing with low latency is crucial,” said Wong Soon Nam, Telkomsel’s Planning & Transformation Director.

He added: “The collaboration with Singtel ensures the continuity of the company’s digital transformation roadmap by continually innovating and implementing cutting-edge technology that will advance the telecommunications industry and the nation through state-of-the-art solutions.”

Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo, added, “Enterprises globally are actively embracing 5G and edge computing to strengthen their competitiveness, capitalise on emerging opportunities and enable digital transformation powered by 5G. Paragon has been at the forefront of this revolution with a growing ecosystem of telcos and technology partners globally, by making the adoption of 5G and edge computing and applications easier, faster, and less costly for enterprises.”

“Our long relationship with Telkomsel has delivered many fruitful collaborations, and this latest partnership will enable Telkomsel to turbo charge enterprise digital transformation in ASEAN’s largest digital economy,” Chang further commented. “We look forward to further expanding and deepening our engagements with Telkomsel, to bring even more exciting innovations to Indonesia, the region, and the world.”

Telkomsel and Singtel: Reducing Complexity, Enhancing Operations

The Singtel Paragon all-in-one orchestration platform for 5G edge computing and cloud services significantly reduces the complexity, operational resources, and costs of managing 5G and edge computing services. Access to Paragon’s capabilities will lower the barriers to adoption of multi-access edge computing (MEC) services to unlock efficiency and business innovation. Some of the benefits Indonesian enterprises will enjoy include:

  • Network Slicing to deliver a differentiated connectivity experience according to service needs.
  • Paragon Platform Marketplace that offers a variety of plug-and-play cyber security, networking, and video-conferencing applications.
  • Application Programming Interfaces (API) Library with pre-built software components and tools that makes it easy for developers to create new applications.
  • Multi-Cloud Management to simplify workload deployment across cloud service platforms seamlessly.

In addition to enabling the provision of a 5G Network as a Service solution, Telkomsel will also utilise Paragon to launch Edge Cloud Computing (ECC) services, providing customers with access to lowlatency computing, GPUs, and storage. These services are crucial for customers operating applications and platforms that require high-speed data processing for accurate real-time decision-making.

As part of its efforts to deliver reliable connectivity services that surpass customer expectations, Telkomsel will introduce a seamless fallback solution through the Paragon platform, ensuring uninterrupted network access to Telkomsel’s networks for its enterprise customers. This ensures that enterprise customers relying on private network services will continue to receive seamless service and connectivity, enhancing the resilience of their business activities.

In addition to its partnership with Telkomsel, Singtel has also partnered telecommunications companies around the world including AIS in Thailand, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, and Masmovil in Spain, to make the platform available in their markets
