MSI Demonstrates Advanced AIoT Applications, Simulates Smart City at COMPUTEX 2024

MSI, a world leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) PC and AIoT solutions, is participating in COMPUTEX 2024. With cutting-edge skills, MSI’s AIoT team has been focusing on product development and hardware-software integration for AI applications in recent years, achieving great results on application development in various fields.

In line with it, MSI has created an exclusive exhibition area for Smart City to introduce AIoT application scenarios, which have five topics: AI and data centre, automation, industrial solutions, commercial solutions, and automotive solutions.

The most iconic products this year are diverse GPU platforms for AI markets and a new CXL (Compute Express Link) memory expansion server that was developed by the cooperation of key players in the CXL technology field, including AMD, Samsung, and Micron.

Besides, the latest Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) powered by NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Orin™ is also one of the major highlights. For new energy vehicles, we will first disclose the complete AC/DC chargers coupled with MSI E-Connect dashboard (EMS) and AI-powered car recognition applications to show the one-stop service of HW/SW integration.

MSI Reveals Diverse GPU Platforms for AI Markets

MSI targets the AI market with diverse GPU platforms, spanning four to eight GPUs. The 4U 4-GPU G4101, designed for AI training, supports a single AMD EPYC™ 9004 Series processor with liquid cooling, twelve DDR5 RDIMM slots, and four PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for triple-slot graphic cards.

It boasts 12 front 2.5-inch U.2 NVMe/SATA drive bays for high-speed storage, ideal for varied AI workloads. Combining air flow spacing and liquid closed-loop cooling, the G4101 offers optimal thermal management, ensuring sustained performance even for demanding tasks.

The G4201 is a 4U supercomputer that accommodates up to eight double-wide PCIe 5.0 x16 slots optimized for high-performance GPU cards, alongside one single-wide PCIe 5.0 x16 expansion slot. Powered by dual 5th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors and equipped with 32 DDR5 DIMMs, the G4201 platform delivers outstanding heterogeneous computing capabilities for various GPU-based scientific high-performance computing, Generative AI, and inference applications. The system also boasts 12 3.5-inch drive bays for enhanced functionality.

New CXL Memory Expansion Server Redefines High-Performance Computing

In collaboration with key players in the CXL (Compute Express Link) technology field, including AMD, Samsung, and Micron, MSI and its partners are driving future advancements in CXL technology to meet the demands of large AI Training and HPC applications.

MSI will be showcasing the new S2301 CXL memory expansion server, tailored for data-intensive workloads and in-memory databases. This 2U server platform features dual-socket 4th Gen AMD EPYC Series processors and is ready for select next-generation AMD EPYC CPUs. It boasts 24 DDR5 DIMM slots and two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. With eight E3.S 2T drive bays for CXL memory and eight ES.3 1T bays for NVMe storage, this system can expand its memory capacity by up to 8TB.

Smart 360° AI Patrolling Solution

It uses AI algorithms to achieve safety monitoring and intelligent disaster prevention alerts. Whenever environmental safety monitoring detects abnormalities, the system instantly triggers notifications. This way, relevant personnel can receive timely alerts and respond promptly to the situation.

This patrolling solution is equipped with flexible, high-efficiency solar panels that are lightweight, have a long life (25 years), are easy to install, and come in diverse shapes. It utilises EV-grade lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) for lightweight energy storage and long-life charge-discharge applications.

By combining green energy ecology with solar panels and energy storage devices, the Smart 360° AI Patrolling Solution can be easily and quickly installed in remote areas, areas with weak infrastructure, or locations where construction or continuous power supply is inconvenient. Examples include outdoor construction sites, parking lots, streets, intersections, bus shelters, public transportation, subways, or railway safety monitoring.

Rugged Display for Agricultural Vehicles

MSI Hyper 180 Dual DC Charger

MSI has launched its first DC fast charger, designed for charging stations, public parking lots, and freeway service areas where charging time is limited.

With a charging power of up to 180 kW, this DC charger features a dual-gun design; a single gun can charge at full speed, while dual guns can dynamically adjust power according to the vehicle. It also offers 3 options for connectors: CCS1, CCS2, and NACS, suitable for various EV models.

The cable management adopts a swing arm design to increase the usage distance and avoid cable dragging, which can cause damage and dirt accumulation, thus extending the service life. It supports OCPP1.6 J communication protocol for networked control through the charging management system, enhancing operational efficiency.

It also supports ISO 15118 identification for plug and charge to enhance drivers’ payment convenience. When not in use, it can enter eco mode to reduce standby power consumption. The user interface includes a mobile app, RFID cards, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen, along with a 21.5-inch screen for additional revenue generation through advertisement placement.

MSI EV Series AC Charger

Ideal for various EVs on the market, MSI EV Series features a stylish design with AI-powered licence plate recognition, multiple payment options, up to 14 kW of charging power (adjustable from 8 A to 60 A), and all types of cables including Type 1 (SAE J1772), Type 2 (IEC-62196) and NACS.

In terms of operation, it offers a mobile app, 7-inch display, and cloud/on-premises energy management system to support plug & charge, QR pay, scheduling, RFID card, and so on, which are the optimal solutions for residential and commercial charging.

MSI Eco Series AC Charger

Featuring 3-phase power, 3-way power input, and flexible tethered/untethered choice, the MSI Eco Series has a compact design yet a fast power output of up to 22 kW. This will provide an easier installation and more powerful charging to the consumers, the installers, and the operators.

MSI EZgo Portable Charger

Designed for both home and travel, MSI EZgo supports up to 11 kW of charging power, a 1.8-inch display, and replaceable power cords for 8 countries/areas with no installation required.
