Thailand hosted the 12th Capacity Asia 2015 seminar during November 30 to December 2, 2015, at Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, joined by telecommunication service providers in Asia. The meeting served as a platform for businesses to exchange their technological know-how and experiences on various topics.

Vice President, Carrier Business Department of CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT), Mrs. Ubonpan Chuenchom, joined in a pannel discussion on the topic of ‘Spotlight Focus –Thailand: Maintaining competitive edge in the APAC wholesale carrier market’. She highlighted CAT’s marketing campaign for service providers in Asia and specifically Thailand where IT shifts continuously. This pushes the telecom service provider to develop its network infrastructure and adapt to advanced technologies and marketing campaigns.

CAT anticipates that data usage will shoot up due to 4G signal availability and expansion of the content provider sector. As such, CAT has prepared networks to support bandwidth that will double in size. CAT will also develop “cloud” infrastructure and data center systems that will serve global content provision.

CAT will also improve its business in Asia and expand its reach to Indochina countries, especially with the opening up of Myanmar where CAT has already been for over two years. CAT’s Point of Presence in Myanmar enables connection by a terrestrial and submarine cable network to Thailand.
