Twenty-five years ago, Dell introduced the Latitude laptop series into the market. Over the years, different versions of the Latitude have been released, improving on its performances to users. Today, the Latitude laptop series is one of Dell’s best-selling workplace laptops. In conjunction with its 25th anniversary, Dell released the 10th generation of the Latitude series.

The new and completely redesigned Dell Latitude portfolio will help users get work done faster and stay productive longer. At a media launch in Kuala Lumpur, KT Ong, Country Manager Malaysia, Dell EMC said the PC business grew 13% year on year last year for Dell and is worth around US$ 8.3 billion.

“Businesses need four types of transformation to complete their digital transformation. This includes application transformation, IT transformation, security transformation and workforce transformation. We provide the workforce transformation with our Dell Laptops by offering a unified workspace.”

Available in the new laptops, Dell Technologies Unified Workspace simplifies the entire device lifecycle for IT while providing workers with the personalised, frictionless, ready-to-work experience they need. Unified Workspace integrates solutions across Dell devices and services with the help of VMware and SecureWorks. With VMware Workspace ONE as the backbone of Dell Technologies Unified Workspace, users can utilise unified endpoint management technology to modernise how they deploy, manage and secure their devices.

The new laptops are also equipped with next-gen biometric sign-in and multi-factor security options to address the 80% of workers who believe built-in security features help keep the company safe. The new layers of enterprise-class security save users the hassle of remembering passwords and offers fact and secure sign on. Among the features include fingerprint readers built into the power button and Windows Hello IR cameras, Dell Safe Screen as well as privacy shutters.

The laptop also supports Dell’s SafeBIOS utility, giving customers added visibility to BIOS changes by verifying the firmware’s integrity security in the cloud. This off-host BIOS verification utility is available a standalone download and can also be integrated with VMware Workspace, SecureWorks and CrowdStrike.

Security operations can now proactively detect attacks against their BIOS using CrowdStrike console and access best-of-breed insights with SecureWorks. With this visibility, IT can set up automated workflows in Workspace ONE to push over-the-air updates to bring out-of-compliance devices back into compliance. The ability to tie measurements directly into SecureWorks threat intelligence, CrowdStrike threat detection and VMware Workspace ONE device health provides an additional level of monitoring and visibility.

With that said, the new portfolio of the Latitude is designed with IT departments in mind and aims to get business users productive faster and keep them productive longer, no matter when, where or how they work.

The Latitude series is available in different versions to suit different needs of users.
