Asia’s key platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) will reconvene in a digital edition on the 16th and 17th of March 2022. Renamed “IoT Asia+,” it will be a specially curated digital experience that focuses on applications of IoT enablers and connectors for the healthcare, real estate, retail, and transport and logistics sectors.

With the Singapore Government recently announcing that it will allocate an additional USD $200 million and USD $600 million for Singapore companies to continue investing in building their digital capabilities and scaling up their productivity solutions, respectively, IoT Asia+ will bring a refreshed focus on enabling technologies, collectively referred to as the “+” in “IoT Asia+.” These include 5G, blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Alternate Reality (AR) and other technologies that are constantly being developed and enhanced to help users rapidly connect, converge and collaborate better across industry sectors and geographical borders.

Mr Terence Teo, President of the Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA), the professional association for companies and professionals in Singapore’s automation, IoT and robotics sectors, said, “With the disruptions caused by the pandemic, IoT plays an even more critical role as a key enabler helping companies develop new business models, stay competitive and deliver greater value while focusing on strengthening people and infrastructure capabilities. The increasing emphasis on sustainability and working with limited resources would mean that enterprise can further leverage on IoT solutions and be empowered to achieve business goals and deliver social responsibilities.”

Chua Wee Phong, Chief Executive (Markets) at Constellar, added: “The past two years has created a greater urgency for businesses to accelerate IoT adoption. IoT Asia+ will offer an easily accessible, specially curated digital experience that fosters learning and collaboration in four identified key sectors that have shown the most prominent growth levels—healthcare, real estate, retail and transport and logistics—with IoT enablers as a fundamental theme across the pillars. With the combined expertise from SIAA and Constellar, we look forward to supporting the community in converging, igniting change and transforming their businesses through IoT Asia+.”

The theme for IoT Asia+ 2022 is ‘Igniting Business Change Through Collision of Communities and Ideas.’ This year’s conference will kick off with a welcome address from Alvin Tan, Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. Attendees will enjoy access to over 30 specially curated sessions featuring more than 50 local and international IoT leaders from Alibaba, Amazon Web Services, KPMG and other technology companies exploring latest innovations and trends in IoT solutions, as well as real IoT applications and opportunities for smart cities. They can also participate in focused discussions on IoT topics impacting healthcare, real estate, retail and transport and logistics such as cybersecurity, data privacy, interoperability, cost and monetisation.

The conference will also examine the deployment and optimisation of IoT solutions in gathering data to help citizens live more comfortably, alleviate traffic congestion, drive urban farming and achieve net zero targets. Participants will also gain deeper insights in how IoT reinvents customer experience for the retail sector, minimise supply chain risks and disruptions for the transport and logistics sectors, help reduce strain on remote patient monitoring and diagnostics, as well as improve clinical excellence.
