A strategic collaboration between the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), Arus Jaya Automotive Sdn. Bhd. and Perodua was announced today for the development of Smart Sales and Service, at a ground-breaking ceremony held at the Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel for the establishment of the first ever Digital Showroom.

The Digital Showroom will be the first of its kind to be realised, in order to transition towards enhancing digitalisation of the aftermarket sector

The ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Datuk Darell Leiking.

The development of a Digital Showroom serves as a platform to enhance business operations and customer purchasing experience through the adoption of digital technologies and services in the Sabah region.

The Digital Showroom will utilise elements of Industry 4.0 such as Big Data Analytics (BDA), Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud-based services to transform the way aftermarket services are conducted, allowing for a seamless, interactive and immersive experience for customers while reducing operational costs for business owners.

“The Digital Showroom is a game changer for the sales, service and aftermarket sector, as the digital dimension at the point in which the consumer is most involved is altered.”, Dato’ Madani Sahari, CEO MARii said.

“This initiative will transform the sales scene of the industry, allowing business owners to reduce operational costs by eliminating the need of investing in a high number of showroom display models while at the same time, maximising the choices offered to the customer during purchasing decision phase”, he explained.

During the retail process, the consumer can personalise their vehicles in real-time, at the same time the same technology can be utilised to expedite the sales and service transaction process through cloud based knowledge repositories and recognition systems that can identify and track vehicle records, financial information and service database to provide better insights for the service provider and enhance the consumer experience.

“This collaboration will improve the performance of the aftermarket sector of the Sabah region, especially in terms of technological development. The Digital Showroom concept can be utilised as a medium to market products in a new, innovative way while at the same, enhance

a customer’s buying experience by providing them new tools to customise and purchase desired vehicles.”, Mr. Simon Chee, Chief Executive Officer of Arus Jaya Automotive Sdn. Bhd. said.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Y Bhg Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said,” While we are unable to share anything specific about the collaboration due to strategic reasons, what I can say is that Perodua wishes to ensure that our digital experience is one to remember.”
