OATI is pleased to announce a Teaming Agreement with Smartenit Inc., a leading home/building automation and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem provider. Smartenit will provide reliable, well-established hardware products such as metering load controllers, electric vehicle (EV) supply equipment, and other energy management products to further enhance OATI’s comprehensive smart energy solutions.

Smartenit wireless load controllers, sensors, and EV infrastructure equipment effectively implement the “last mile” (sensors and actuators) to realize cost and energy savings in energy management programs from utilities and service providers. With OATI’s GridPort intelligent gateway device and Smartenit’s devices, OATI can provide webSmartEnergy solutions to monitor, control, and manage assets such as Level 2 EV chargers, water heaters (heat pumps, resistive electric), central air conditioning units, among many other assets.

This Teaming Agreement builds upon the work OATI and Smartenit have already been doing together for more than three years. OATI’s Data Acquisition and Asset Control system, OATI GridControl, has a variety of Smartenit hardware directly integrated into the product solution. This near real-time data is consumed by the OATI webSmartEnergy software to be analyzed and baselined for more strategic and advanced Demand Response/Distributed Energy Resource management.

“Smartenit recognizes the incredible value the OATI platform adds to smart energy applications,” said Al Choperena, President and CEO of Smartenit. “We look forward to helping OATI create a greener and more efficient grid that intelligently connects customers, resources, grid operations, and energy markets.”

“With Smartenit’s years of experience with control devices, radio technologies, and quality manufacturing, OATI is able to create advanced control strategies using the OATI webSmartEnergy platform,” said Dr. Sasan Mokhtari, President and CEO of OATI. “Together, we are able to provide utilities a solution that maximizes their investment, gives the greatest levels of control, and provides accurate local measurements.”
