Big Community was privileged to witness the launch of Cloudera’s official entity in Indonesia, as they deepen its commitment to the Asia Pacific region. The opening ceremony was officiated by Mr. Rudiantara, Minister of Communications and Informatics, Republic of Indonesia.

The sessions under way

Cloudera’s recently appointed Mark Micallef as the Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan, will lead Cloudera’s strategic sales and channel development, direction, team development and overall goals for the fast-growing region. With over 24 years in the information technology industry, in roles spanning across technical, sales and management functions, and having held regional leadership roles at Citrix since 2009, Mark is extremely familiar with the Asia Pacific market and brings a holistic perspective to Cloudera.

Cloudera’s expansion into Indonesia was said to be strategically charted to assist the government’s Smart City initiatives and further enhance the soft skill professionals across the technology industry. The Indonesia office has promised to support its strong prospects for growth, as local hires fill key roles across functions such as Sales, Solutions Engineering and Solutions Architecture.
