VSTECS Berhad (“VSTECS”), Malaysia’s leading Information & Communications Technology distributor, has through its wholly-owned subsidiary VSTECS Pericomp Sdn Bhd, partnered with SAS to accelerate the growth of analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for businesses in Malaysia.
The partnership between SAS and VSTECS will bring analytics and AI to Malaysian SMEs and mid-sized enterprises through its cloud-native SAS Viya platform that helps customers accelerate innovation and reduce costs through operationalising analytics, while helping customers efficiently democratise analytics throughout their organisations. This is the eighth consecutive year for SAS to be recognised as a Leader in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Science & Machine Learning Platforms.
As a local distributor, VSTECS will be responsible for solutions consulting, designing solutions, developing prototypes and projects, business development, implementation, and maintenance.
“Insights from data analytics can empower confident decision making and are becoming critical than ever to businesses, especially during this pandemic. Data analytics can help our customers visualise their data and SAS Viya can enable our customers to re-imagine the way analytics and machine learning are consumed, to solve business challenges faster and more accurately. We are glad to partner with VSTEC to help businesses in Malaysia through advanced analytics,” said Cheam Tat Inn, Managing Director (Malaysia) at SAS.
Mr Soong Jan Hsung, Chief Executive Officer of VSTECS Berhad added, “Intelligent machines, cloud services, data science and AI are going to be the way of the future as businesses seek to communicate in a more personalised way with customers. At VSTECS, we are cognisant of this and have been laying the foundation to tap these opportunities for the past 2 years. SAS’s analytics technology will strengthen our existing suite of products and services and with our channel reach, we are confident this collaboration will yield positive results for both parties moving forward.”
