Covering Disruptive Technology Powering Business in The Digital Age

The 6th Edition of Asia IoT Business Platform was recently held at Pullman KlCC, Malaysia. The two-day event, from 3 to 4 November 2015, brought together consumers, platform providers, policy makers and those actually putting all the pieces together in the market place with the aim to help to define the future landscape of IoT.

Asia IoT Business Platform can be considered Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive event for solution providers targeting enterprise adoption of IoT and M2M Technologies.

Asia IoT Business Platform in Kuala Lumpur showcased the value and economic impact of IoT/M2M solutions, including improving private and public sector enterprise productivity, and harnessing ICT and networks to alleviate problems in dense capital cities.

“This is a platform for leaders in IoT to gather and foreground the opportunities in Malaysia and other emerging Southeast Asian countries. It brings together both end-users and solution providers at a single platform to forge mutually-beneficial partnerships. Ultimately, we are trying to help to catalyse the realisation of a smart city for these Southeast Asian nations,” said Zaf Coelho, Project Director of Asia IoT Business Platform.

Focused on local telecommunication companies, businesses and enterprises, as well as end-users across relevant verticals, the 6th edition of Asia IoT Business Platform saw the participation of major Malaysian telecommunications operators like Telekom Malaysia, Digi and Maxis.

Among the thought leaders present at the event were Dr. Khoh Soo Beng, IoT R&D Director of Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science & Technology (CREST), Helmi Halim, Senior Director & Head of Corporate Market Strategies of Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems (MIMOS), and Norhizam Kadir, Infotech VP of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).

They constituted the esteemed 2015 Advisory Board of Asia IoT Business Platform, which ensures top-level backing from the industry and quality content in the conference.

Coelho said Malaysia has a lot of opportunities as the Government is making a strong push for IoT development.

“The strategic IoT roadmap is interesting as it’s the first time a government in South-East Asia is putting its thoughts and figures on paper on how it envisions the IoT will contribute to the economy,” he added,

“This national roadmap serves as serves as a massive incentive for IoT companies — be it local, regional, or global — to invest in the country for its IoT progression.”
