Seasoned Software Sales Executive to Help Talend Grow across Asia Pacific Region

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Talend, a global leader in big data integration software, today announced the appointment of Kamal Brar as SVP & GM, APAC, with a directive to establish and grow the company’s customer and partner ecosystem across Asia Pacific.

“Talend is well positioned to benefit from the ongoing dramatic shift in data management and I’m thrilled to join the team and help customers throughout APAC turn their data into a key corporate asset.”

Many Asia Pacific companies across a broad range of sectors, from banking and healthcare to energy and retailing are recognizing the benefits of becoming more data driven and, as a result, are increasing their investment in related technologies. For example, IDC research shows that spending on Big Data Analytics across Asia Pacific will increase at 34 percent year over year for the next few years. 1

“With deep expertise in data management solutions and extensive knowledge of the region, Brar is well qualified to lead our market initiatives as we invest heavily in growing our APAC region,” said Brad Stratton, executive vice president of worldwide sales, Talend. “He will help define and implement Talend’s sales and channel programs while establishing a network of partners for Talend to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities in big data and cloud markets.”

Brar will report to Stratton and bring significant data management and enterprise software expertise to Talend. Most recently, he was General Manager, Cloud Data Services for APAC at IBM, where he helped drive sales of the company’s big data portfolio. Prior to IBM, Brar was Vice President and General Manager APAC for MongoDB. Brar also previously held leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, and MySQL.

“With its strong product portfolio and history of technology innovation, I believe Talend is well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand among organizations in Asia Pacific for solutions to more fully harness their big data to help optimize every aspect of their business,” said Brar. “Talend is well positioned to benefit from the ongoing dramatic shift in data management and I’m thrilled to join the team and help customers throughout APAC turn their data into a key corporate asset.”

Talend has benefited from recent product introductions and strong customer adoption. The company introduced Talend 6, its flagship data integration platform featuring compelling technology support for Apache Spark and Spark Streaming on Hadoop in September 2015. In March, the company unveiled an update to its Talend Integration Cloud solution to help streamline big data integration in Amazon Web Service environments.
