TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, today announced its collaboration with Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) in its intent to expand the data analytics capabilities and knowledge of the students in Malaysia.
TIBCO, together with its partner iZeno and APU, will jointly engage the students from APU’s School of Computing. Aiming to teach data analytics in a more visualised manner, these organizations hope to ultimately equip the students with key data skillsets that are essential for their future careers.
“We applaud Malaysia’s initiative in encouraging businesses to digitally transform to remain competitive,” said Melissa Ries, general manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, TIBCO. “We recognise the critical and current need for industry-relevant talents to support businesses as they go through their digital transformation journeys.”
The digital economy plays an important role in Malaysia’s journey towards becoming a high-income nation. Improving the skills gap through learning opportunities for the youth will aid the nation in reaching its goal of digitalisation.
“With our APU partnership, we can offer expertise in helping address the data skills gap in Malaysia. We understand how important the youth is in developing the digital ecosystem of the nation, so through our collaboration, we hope to augment their relevant capabilities and skillsets through our technology and innovative solutions,” Ries added.
TIBCO provides a holistic approach in the field of data analytics, bringing together an exciting hands-on learning experience, coupled with its comprehensive technology and an effective ecosystem of support.
“Close collaboration between higher-education institutions and technology vendors is crucial to the success of developing the right talent. We are excited about partnering with TIBCO to support this national initiative,” said Jason Lin, co-founder and director, iZeno.
The parties aim to provide students with hands-on opportunities to practice concepts using selected TIBCO tools in order to deepen their knowledge in advanced data analytics. There will also be opportunities for students to learn through guest lectures, seminars, networking sessions, and relevant training modules with industry experts.
“APU has always been open to collaborations that will provide our students with more expansive ways of education. We are very pleased to have this opportunity to partner with TIBCO, helping us fulfil our promise of a high-quality education for our students,” said professor Dr. Ir. Vinesh Thiruchelvam, dean, Faculty of Computing and Engineering Technology, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. “This will definitely provide them with digital skills through this practice-based learning.”
Apart from the partnership with APU in Malaysia, TIBCO has also collaborated with key universities in Singapore this year for the same purpose of technology and innovation education and data skills enhancement.
