August 3, 2016 News

BIGIT Technology Show is a Conference and Exhibition Series that will focus on the exploration and discussion on the latest technology trends such as Big Data, IoT and Smart Government and acts as a platform to create awareness on these topics among industry players.

With the event about to kick off soon, Big Community were excited to get the opportunity to interview the organisers as well as their Platinum Sponsor on what participants can look forward to at the event. Here are a few questions we posed to them and their reply.

First from the organisers, Olygen.

We are looking forward to the BIGIT Technology Malaysia 2016 event in September – Have you got an overall theme for this year?

With only a month to the event, we are very excited for the BIGIT Technology Malaysia 2016 and certainly look forward to bring all data enthusiast together on this platform.

For BIGIT Technology Malaysia this year, there are a combination of themes for this 2 day event but as a whole, our event intents to gather industry experts and the ICT community from across the South East Asia (SEA) region and internationally to gain and share knowledge, insights and case studies on how organisations around the world are changing the way of business practices and encourage big data adoption as well as effective data security.

What kind of people do you think will benefit the most by attending this year’s the BIGIT Technology Malaysia 2016 event?

With the aggressive growth of Big Data in SEA, the primary focus for many organisations are driven towards achieving better understanding on the concept of Big Data as a powerful tool in creating value for the organisation.

Thus, the conferences that we have (both 4th Big Data World Show and Data Security World Show) will bring together industry experts and compelling case studies from organisations around the world as they testify their journey to big data adoption. For those interested to gather insights and gain knowledge can see first-hand how innovative organisations are changing the way of business practices.

Furthermore, with this year’s event being one the key initiatives as we work towards positioning Malaysia as the leading Big Data Analytics hub in the SEA region, we will see the fostering of regional business partnerships on this business networking platform.

You have a great line up of speakers planned are there any that you are particularly excited to hear from?

We are excited to have amazing speakers who are industry experts and from world class organisations joining us for BIGIT Technology Malaysia 2016.

With notable speakers like Mark Gallagher, Managing Director of CMS Motor Trading (Grand Prix Motor Racing) from UK; Daniel Castro, Director of Centre for Data Innovation from US; and Younus al-Nasser, Assistant Director General of Smart Dubai Office from UAE, being part of our speakers line up, audiences can expect to gain valuable insights from cutting-edge keynotes, case studies, panel discussions and expert presentations on key topics such as Big Data, Data Security and E-commerce.

You have teamed up with MDEC for this year’s event, what are they hoping to achieve by partnering with you?

With our strategic partnership with MDEC as our co-organiser, BIGIT Technology Malaysia 2016 was announced as one of the key initiatives as we aim to position Malaysia as the leading Big Data Analytics hub in the SEA region.

Creating this regional platform where we drive conversations and promote the adoption of Big Data Analytics in the SEA region is aligned to Olygen’s (under the brand name BIGIT) expertise and experience in organising niche and tailored events on the latest technological trends such as Big Data, Data Security and E-commerce as well as creating a conducive environment that fosters business development and networking between our host of key industry players in attendance.

With our priority to create value for the audience by continuously bringing innovation and breakthrough in the field of technology in one platform, we strive to address the increasingly aggressive growth of Big Data in SEA through case studies and insights from organisations around the world as they attest to their big data adoption journey.

Following are our questions to their Platinum Sponsor, Delphix, and their replies.

We were excited to see you decided to sponsor BIGIT Technology Malaysia this year. What made you decide to support this event?

We’re excited to be participating this year. As a Data start-up company this event will allow us to network with our peers, meet new prospects, explain who Delphix is and raise our profile within the region.  We’ve recently been focusing a significant amount of energy on expansion into the ASEAN market. This event gives us the opportunity to learn about the challenges that companies here face, while educating this market on why Delphix data masking is the most advanced data security available. We’ve also recently announced a global partnership initiative, and we look forward to exploring possibilities with other attendees this year as well.

If people visit your exhibition stand at BIGIT Technology Malaysia what exciting things can they expect to see?

At this event, Delphix is focused on data security and speed, so we’ll be highlighting three key prongs of our technology:

Data Masking: Gartner recently named Delphix a leader in data masking, and our own metrics demonstrate that we’re able to increase security of sensitive data in any environment by 90%.

Test Data Management (TDM):  While traditional TDM tools can generate datasets for testing, they often fail to distribute datasets in a timely manner to testers waiting downstream. This compromises teams’ ability to deliver quality applications within a targeted schedule. By distributing virtualized datasets instead, those teams are able to test earlier and more often – so they can release higher quality applications faster.

Cloud Migration: Many organisations are facing the enormous task of modernising their IT environments by moving to the cloud. Such moves increase agility and control of infrastructure costs, but with traditional tools, these projects can mean a years-long slog, sometimes even comically resulting in physically moving data by truck. By creating virtualized environments that are then moved to the cloud, Delphix can reduce the time investment in these projects by up to 80%.

Will you have any experienced Big Data professionals on hand that people can meet? If so please tell us about them.

We’d like to invite people to come for a conversation with Gab Gennai, our Data Evangelist and Customer Success Director. His interests lie in security and Big Data, having worked previously with ArcSight (HP) and Cloudera. He will be able to provide you with the knowledge you need to ensure your data needs are met – and secure.

Are there any specific products or focus technologies that you will be talking about at this year’s event?

We want to make sure that BIGIT attendees leave our booth with a more thorough understanding of what they can be doing to protect their data through data masking. Data breaches are becoming a daily occurrence – in the healthcare industry alone, an industry compelled to keep medical data private, there have already been 58 breaches since January. Unfortunately, many businesses fail to secure roughly 90% of their sensitive data because that data exists in development, testing, and analytics environments. By masking sensitive data with realistic, non-sensitive equivalents, Delphix is able to protect all your data from internal and external threats alike.
